Without being able to predict the amount of breakdowns we will have or what the weather is going to be like, which will affect the length of the fall season, Public Works is requesting that the parts budget be increased by $100,000 for the remainder of the 2017 year.

Attached is a letter from a Councillor with the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay regarding Fire Smart Protection.  They will be brushing a access trail on the beach of Horseshoe Bay and is requesting the County to consider doing the same along St. Vincent Lake within the County boundaries.

  • Administration is recommending to refer this to refer this to the Regional Director of Emergency Management. 

Discussion on the draft letter regarding the Federal Change to Taxation of Small Businesses.

At the September 12th Council Meeting, Council made a motion to erect "No Littering" signage along Township Road 582 south of SE 15-58-9-W4.  At the staff meeting with public works staff following the Council meeting, a suggestion was made to also erect signage along Township Road 582 posting the hours of the Transfer Station.  

  • Administration is recommending to work with the Town of St. Paul for signage posting the hours of the transfer station in addition to the signage approved by Council.  

The Annual CNRL Steak & Shrimp Fundraiser will be held October 21st.  They are requesting if the County is interested in purchasing a table of 8 for $480 and/or donating an auction item.

  • In 2016 Council purchased a table and provided a silent auction item for the event.

We have received a request for a street light on an existing power pole in front of Lot 5, Block 1, Plan 7622036.  The adjacent landowners have signed the letter indicating they have no objection to the request.  

  • Administration is recommending to approve the request for the street Light.

Muni Corr is currently working the survey and subdivision on the Muni Corr right-of-way on the siding lands within the Hamlet of Malalig.  Administration is recommending to enter into an agreement with Muni Corr to maintain the gravel road and ensure they have access to the staging area.  

Administration will provide Council with an update on the Owlseye Road.
