  • Camp Lake: SE design (Cold Lake) hired to design and apply for water act approval.  Borrow pit acquisition started.

- Lafond Sewage transfer station construction started.

The Elk Point and District Curling Society applied on June 15th for a CFEP Grant for $42,721 to replace their chiller in their ice plant, replace all existing carpet, replace two on-ice heaters, and carrying out upgrades to the front entrance and facade of the curling rink building. The Curling Society anticipates hearing back from Alberta Culture in December 2017. 

The Town of Elk Point has provided $8,500 from their MSI Funding for the project. The Curling Society is providing approximately $9,200 for the project. 

The Curling Society is requesting the County provide $25,000 for the project. 

The County has approximately $47,250 remaining in the 2017 Elk Point Recreation Grant Account.

We will have an agreement to present at Tuesday's meeting. 

We have received sealed tender in response to the ad for the standing hay crop on the NW 17-59-11-W4.  The tenders will be opened in the presence of Council.  

As an adjacent landowner, we have received a letter from the Town of St. Paul advising that they will be considering a rezoning for Block A, Plan 31AI from Residential to Residential Multi-Family.  They will hold a public hearing on July 5th at 7:00 p.m. if Council has any concerns they want to present. 

The owner of Lot A, Plan 7620657 in SW 7-58-10-W4 is requesting 20 yards of 2" gravel on the road allowance between SW 7-58-10-W4 and SE 12-58-10-W4, which is highlighted in yellow on the attached map.  He currently licenses the road allowance which serves as an access to his home.  

 

The St. Paul Chamber of Commerce would like to hold an election forum.  Options are Wednesday, September 27th or Wednesday, October 4th.

The Cold Lake Fish Hatchery is having trouble stocking Lac Delorme with fish.  They can't get close enough.  It's one of the County's road allowances.  

FCSS has applied for a Co-op Grant for 2 all inclusive outdoor play centres.  The grant includes equipment and installation.  The location where the play centres will be installed did not have to be included in the application.   The turnaround time to apply for this grant was quick.

 

Administration is looking for a motion to ratify the the Co-op grant application for 2 all inclusive outdoor play centres.
