Civil Forfeiture grants are available through the Alberta Solicitor General for local crime prevention projects. $2.5 million in funding is available. Time-limited grant funding between $50,000 and $200,000 per project is available for projects lasting up to 2 years. Funding will support innovative, promising and proven practices. The funded projects must focus on:
- services that directly prevent at-risk individuals from becoming involved in criminal activity and/or
- crime prevention planning initiatives, such as coordination plans to deter rural crime.
FCSS will be applying for a Civil Forfeiture Grant for an outreach worker to work with "at risk" youth in the Town of Elk Point and surrounding areas and help them access resoures as well as advocate on their behalf. FCSS is looking for a letter of support to accompany their grant application.
