October 27 - Seasonal truck drivers and some labourers will be finished for the year.  Seasonal construction crew, crusher crew and some labour staff will stay on until mid November.

Public Works tendered the construction of 1 mile along Township Road 564, Lafond Sewage Road.  The first time the project was advertised, the tenders were received based on the contractors supplying gravel, so the tenders were not accepted and the project was re-tendered.  Again, the bids came in higher than expected so the tender was not awarded.  The advertisement for the road construction project clearly stated "highest tender not necessarily accepted".

FCM Contracting Ltd from Grande Prairie submitted a tender each time.  They are now requesting compensation for their efforts and waste of time in the amount of $500, which they believe is 1/3 of what they spent on office supplies, vehicle mileage and fuel, accommodation and meals.

Administration is recommending to deny the request from FCM Contracting Ltd. for compensation.

The St. Paul Elks is requesting a donation for their radio auction which will be held on Sunday, November 5th.  They are requesting a donation to be used as an auction item.  In the past, Council approved two ten cubic yard loads of gravel, to be delivered as per policy PW-59.
